Disappearing blog posts

I have had a WordPress Blog since 2017 but was inactive posting blogs for over a year while I wrote a new book. In late 2017 I posted a blog but couldn’t find a way to put it under a category with the new version of WP. It has disappeared. I just finished a blog with pictures and text and went to ‘preview’ and now can’t get back to the work site. I also cannot find my blog that I just saved. It also went to ‘uncategorized’ before I had a chance to put it under ‘Books’.
