I started a blog years ago and this year connected it to my website. So if I click on the blog innerchild.blog it takes you to the website johannatransformations.com. I have now created a new website and want to transfer those new pages to the site johannatransformations.com. I want to keep the blog separate and later connect it to the new web pages. How to keep the blog and replace the website?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

I checked your account and found that you have a single site with two domains attached to it. The domains are johannatransformations.com and innerchild.blog. Do you want to have separate sites on these two domains?

If yes, you’ll want to create a new site with a WordPress.com plan and move one of the domains to your new site. Since you have plenty of blog posts on this site, I’d suggest creating a new site for your website with the domain johannatransformations.com. However, it’s completely up to you how you want to go about this.

After creating your new site, you can export all content from the current site and import them into the new site.

We’ll be happy to assist you with the process either way. Do you have a plan on how you’d like to proceed?

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

I am a little lost. I want to keep the website johannattransformations.com.

If I connect the new website pages that I created outside of WordPress (basically connecting it to the domain johannatransformations), will the blog innerchild still exist, seeing as that is a separate domain?

Before offering guidance, let’s ensure we’re on the same page:

    1. You currently have a website on WordPress.com with the domain johannattransformations.com, and you prefer not to change it.
    2. Your secondary domain under the johannattransformations.com plan is innerchild.blog.
    3. You mentioned “website pages created outside WordPress.” Could you provide more details about these pages? Specifically, where you created them and which domain you want this external website to use. Note that having two separate WordPress sites with the same domain is not feasible. Your options are either to create a new website with a different domain (or use innerchild.blog). Alternatively, you can integrate those external pages into your existing website.

Clearing up these details will enable us to offer more precise and effective support. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I created a website in Hocoos (AI). When done , it says I can connect this to an existing domain. I want to keep the website johannatransformations, I also want to keep the blog. So I was thinking I can connect the newly created pages to the domain johannatransformations and also keep the blog. This is how they say to connect to a domain:

    Here’s how you connect domain

For detailed instructions, please refer to this article.

    1. Open a new tab and log into your domain account.
    2. Go to DNS Settings or the Domain Management section.
    3. Create an ‘A’ record pointing to 172.66.0.63
    4. Create a ‘CNAME’ record pointing to your domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)
    5. Create a ‘CNAME’ record pointing to “_acme-challenge” and the Answer yourdomain.com.33b8f056b098531e.dcv.cloudflare.com (change yourdomain.com to your domain name)
    6. Now, enter your domain in the field below and click Connect.
    7. Wait for the connection to complete. This may take 24-72 hours

    Hi there,

To change your domain’s A records, follow the instructions in this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/setting-custom-a-records/. This guide will walk you through the steps needed to update the A record to point to the IP address you mentioned.

For adding CNAME records, this is the guide you can follow: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/custom-dns/#add-a-new-dns-record. It contains step-by-step instructions on how to add those CNAME records to your domain.

If you encounter any issues or have further questions, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help.
