How could you monitor your users activity, on discussion boards for example, to identify their location or how many times they log in to use the site?

Hi @aprillouise23, you would likely need a plugin for this, as well as a clear privacy policy letting folks know about how you’re tracking them.

Thanks for that. I’m still not 100% sure though how I would see the stats (i.e. users who log on and when to the Discussion Board), would this come from a stat tracker linked to the Discussion Board once I’ve installed the Plugin? Just as it’s specific stats right, not general, like the stats for the website?

You are considering installing this as a plugin on https://virtualpalaeoscience.wordpress.com/ yes? Or are you referring to another site you may have on another account.
To clarify, we provide WordPress sites, and with the Business Plan (or higher) you have the ability to add any plugin “designed for WordPress” but those plugins are typically designed by outside companies, so we are not familiar with the detailed workings of all plugins, only the ones we ourselves design.

We do offer built in stats on WordPress.com, but they are not designed with plugins in mind, and likely will not track the info you are looking for. You may need to work with the creators of the plugin directly to see if they offer their own stats or know of a way to track the data you are interested in.
