DNS – I don't understand anything about it, need someone to spell it out for me

Hi, I just registered a domain name (thebardolator.com) for my blog, and now it’s asking me about custom DNS’s. I’m not sure what DNS’s are – I’m not tech savvy. I just want my blog to have a more professional name (previously bardolator23.wordpress.com, not very cool), and don’t know about all these odds and ends. Can someone help me and just tell me what to write? The help page was too tech-y beyond my understanding. What am I supposed to put in? What am I looking for? Also, there was a place where I could put in my Google account info to get some sort of code and it keeps saying “invalid request” once I’m signed in :-s

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

If all you want is your blog to have the address thebardolator.com instead of bardolator23.wordpress.com, you’re all set! You don’t need to do anything else. Your domain is set up and working for me here: http://thebardolator.com/

Custom DNS records are only needed if you want to set up extra services, like custom email with another email provider. It’s totally unnecessary if you don’t want to bother. :) If you don’t want to deal with that, you can still get custom email with our email forwarding service: Email Forwarding

Also, there was a place where I could put in my Google account info to get some sort of code and it keeps saying “invalid request” once I’m signed in

Can you let me know where you put in that Google account info? You can either tell me where you clicked to get to that page where you put it in or send me the address in your browser’s address bar when you’re on that page. That will help me get a better idea of what you’re looking at so I can help with it. :)
