DNS Mapping – point nameservers to wordpress.com or to Microsoft 365?
-
Your support info says to point DNS to your nameservers (for web) and Microsoft 365’s says to point to theirs (for mail, etc), and you each have capability to take over DNS managememt and point to the other for any services you don’t respectively provide. Which approach should I use or does it matter? Does it negatively effect SEO if I point nameserives to Microsoft and create DNS records, etc. on their side to point to you for Web only? Do I need to still map my domain mycompany.com to my wordpress site (mycompany.wordpress.com) to make it work if I have nameservers pointed to Microsoft?

If you want to map a domain here, you will need to change the nameservers. It’s the only method we support.

Once that’s done, mail and such can be directed back by entering the appropriate DNS rules from the provider into your Custom DNS panel.
