DNS on site hosted by GooDaddy
-
Hello!
Just had a weird thing happen. My site, kirbiejohnson.com is saying I need to update my DNS. I can’t change it on godaddy because it says the domain associated with my hosting account is not affiliated with the count; I bought the domain through WordPress. Any help on this?

Your domain is registered at WordPress.com. Do you want to redirect the domain back to your WordPress.com blog? If so, let me know and I’ll adjust the name server records for you.

Yes, I want kirbiejohnson.com to redirect to kirbiejohnson.wordpress.com. Right now I’m hosted by GoDaddy but I mapped it through WordPress. Will this affect anything? My site currently says “My website: just another wordpress blog.” I think it’s because I had installed a wordpress app onto GoDaddy. Have you experienced this before?
Do I adjust the name servers on wordpress? And if so, where do I find the syntax to adjust the DNS? I’d like to learn in case I fall into this problem again.

To point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers
In your case pointing it to your WordPress.com blog requires the name server records as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMLet us know if you have any questions!
