DNS records for keeping email at Hostgator
-
Hi,
I have multiple blogs on wordpress.com and I am very happy with everything.
However I have a major struggle – I want to forward my email service to hostgator.com and still keep domain with nameservers of wordpress.com. Thus I was thinking that I need to add A and MX records to DNS settings in my panel at wordpress.com (also, the domain in question is also an addon domain at hostgator and email account is created). I tried variations, however I could not get the system working (I can send emails, but cannot receive them).
This question I have raised to Hostgator, but they directed me to ask wordpress.com as I am using your nameservers.
What solution is the best in my case? What records should I change in order to have email working at hostgator?
Thank you very much for you help.
Best regards,

If this is regarding lieknas.com, it looks like you have it set for Google Apps email. Is that what you wanted?

Hi, this is regarding progenas.wordpress.com, which now has a domain progenu.lt attached to it, and with these DNS settings:
A mail xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (my Hostgator ip)
MX 10 mail.progenus.lt. -
As far as I can see, the DNS records are set properly. I recommend double-checking with Hostgator to make sure that you have added the correct records.
