DNS TXT records invisible
-
Hey there,
I’m super new to setting these things up, so bear with me :)
I’ve purcahsed and set up two TXT DNS yesterday, and I can’t see them on nslookup or on dns.google, as you can see below:

My questions are:
1. I don’t have a paid plan on WordPress, and all my traffic is redirected to beorgames.wordpress.com, will these sites pick up the txt records from the beorgames.com domain?2. How can I edit the beorgames.wordpress.com DNS records? When I click it I can’t see this option:

Really looking forward to any help, as I’m super lost here and with a tight schedule :P
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey,
Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortuntely these options didn’t work, as you can see on the first screenshot, I’ve already done the steps on Link 1, and Link 2 isn’t really applicable. I don’t want a new host, I just want that my TXT records become available somewhere, I don’t care if it is on beorgames.wordpress.com or on beorgames.com, as long as they appear I’m fine. I need to authenticate my ownership on another platform, and they are invisible at the moment.
Should I really switch to a paid plan??

@beorgames Usually, it takes up to 48 hours for any DNS changes to fully take effect.
After checking your TXT records using What’s My DNS, it seems that the entries haven’t propagated yet. You can verify this here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/#TXT/beorgames.com
If the 48-hour period elapses and the updates still haven’t occurred, please double-check with the service you’re using to verify ownership. Ensure that you’re using the correct entry for the TXT record.
I hope this provides clarity! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything else.

Hey, thanks a lot for your reply. So I don’t need a paid plan to have this, right? It’s been around 30 hours since these changes.
And which domain should I verify, beorgames.com or beorgames.wordpress.com?
-
Since you can’t set a TXT record for your free WordPress.com domain, you should check the beorgames.com domain instead.
If the type of verification you’re attempting with the TXT record requires your website to resolve to your domain name (rather than the free WordPress.com URL), you might need to upgrade to one of our paid plans. With a paid plan, you can use beorgames.com as your primary domain, along with other features based on the chosen plan level.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions or need additional assistance.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve paid for a premium plan.
Unfortunately, I still can’t see the TXT records, can you please check if my implementation is correct? I’m worried that the 48hours will pass and the entries won’t appear :X

Hi there,
I’ve checked your domain, beorgames.com, and it looks like your TXT records have been set up correctly. Also, with the plan, beorgames.com is now the primary address for your site.
I’m curious to know more about the two TXT records you’ve implemented. Could you please share a bit about what these TXT records are for and what you’re hoping to accomplish with them? This information will help us ensure that everything is properly configured.

Thanks a lot for checking the implementation :D
Sure, I’m trying to use the Account Service offered by the Epic Games Store, but I need to authenticate my domains first, these are the steps:

I’m waiting only for this to launch my game, which was planned to be released on the 15th, but I only learned that I needed a domain after that. So now I get lots of playters who have wishlisted the game asking me when it will be released, and I’m leaving on vacation this Friday, so a bit anxious here :P
Thanks for taking the time to verify this!

Hey there,
I reached out to the Epic team and they spotted the problem, I didn’t know that I couldn’t set that name, I should include it as “@” instead of epic.
This is sovled now.

Ahh, that makes sense! Thanks for letting us know that is was solved.
Enjoy your vacation!
