do all subscribers to private blogs need wordpress accounts?
-
i have an account i want to keep semi-private and invite only select friends and family to subscribe. does this mean they all need to sign up for wordpress accounts before being able to access my account??
will they be ‘users’ then, and not just subscribers (which is what i want them to be)?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In order for the software to recognize and allow access to a “private” blog they must have wordpress.com accounts but they do NOT have to register blogs. See here please:

They need an account but not a blog (you can choose account only, but it is not intuitive). They would not be users unless you added them as an Author etc.
The ability to visit a Private blog just lets a person visit and comment (depending on how you have the comments set up) – not to contribute or Write a Post unless you specifically set them up to contribute.
