That was quick. Thank you for that!
Also, if I choose to be a premium account holder (paying for hosting services annually), do I get access to Reader and Freshly Pressed, and do others get to see my posts in Reader and Freshly Pressed? Any assistance shall be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Nobody here, not even CNN, pays for hosting. They pay for upgrades like videopress, storage upgrades, custom domains, etc.
Buying upgrades gets you nothing other than the upgrades.
Even free blogs that are hosted at WordPress.com are in the reader and sometimes featured on Freshly Pressed. The only standard of eligibility is that you have a blog hosted on WordPress.com and that it be public. Buying upgrades does not change the likelihood of being in the reader or FP.

If you have a blog hosted here and a blog hosted elsewhere, only the one hosted here will be in the reader and can be considered for FP.

I thought the 99$ per year got me hosting on WordPress.com…? I am now confused, since you said ‘not even CNN pays for hosting’… What does the 99$ get me then? I am referring to this link, if you need to see what I mean: http://store.wordpress.com/plans/
Thank you.
