Do I need wordpress to handle my domain or can I use GoDaddy?
-
I think wordpress handling my domain is causing problems on my intranet. My LAN name is the same as the web domain name. I’d like to turn off wordpress handling my domain. Can I use GoDaddy to point to the wordpress servers to get to the site that we created in wordpress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is possible to use registrar forwarding to point a domain to WordPress.com, but we do not support it and do not advise doing so. Using domain mapping and changing your domain’s nameservers to point to WordPress.com is the preferred method.

Ok. I’ve checked our registrar (GoDaddy) and they are managing our zone file. Our problem is our internal network is the same name as our website. Previously, we had an “A”record setup on our domain for www that pointed to our host. I tried this using a wordpress server and I get an IIS7 page(not our website). Is there a way to point my internal network to the wordpress site?

This isn’t something that WordPress.com is really set up to handle. Your IT team might want to look into setting up a self-hosted WordPress site using the software available on WordPress.org.
