Do not charge me twice for one service!

    I got an email from you saying that I will be charged $99 for Premium Upgrade tomorrow, 4/26/2015. The same message tells me that this upgrade will be automatically renewed on May 6, 2015. What gives??

    Hi Thomas,

    I’m sorry for the confusion! We definitely wouldn’t charge you twice for the same service. It sounds like there’s an error in our renewal email, and I’ll report that to our team to investigate.

    However, I see you already cancelled the Premium upgrade trial on your site, so you won’t be charged at all for that upgrade now. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that!

    Yes, I cancelled the Premium upgrade because of the confusion and uncertainty. I’m not going to buy it until we better understand what’s going on. Meanwhile I will be re-contacting HostGator, with whom I registered my domain name (on the perhaps ill-advised recommendation of a book I purchased.) However, last time I spoke with HostGator on the phone, they told me that WordPress would have to give them the name servers and I should therefore call WordPress customer service to get them to do so. (?) Is there a WordPress phone # you can recommend me to?

    I’ve also gotten the message from WordPress to contact HostGator to update the name servers. So HG is telling me to contact WP and WP is telling me to contact HG. Essentially, what I want is to keep the domain, but redirect to a WordPress site, and have HostGator forward my domain to WordPress.

    I’m likely to buy the WordPress upgrade at some point in the future after this mix-up with HostGator is straightened out.
