Do wordpress.com plugins cease to work after Business plan expires?

I am wondering if a plugin like Search & Filter will continue working on my WordPress.com business site after the business plan expires and the site is downgraded to the free version.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, no, all plugins, and any themes from outside of WordPress.com will cease to function if the Business plan is not renewed. Plugins and themes from outside of WordPress.com can only be used with an active Business Plan upgrade.

@thesacredpath: What about the paid theme(WordPress.com theme) which is activated as part of Business plan? Does the paid theme remain activated after the plan expires and site switches to free plan?

If you activated the theme as part of the plan, letting the plan expire will cause the site to switch back to one of the default free themes. To prevent that from happening you can purchase the theme separately instead.
