Do wordpress.com blogs automatically run the latest wordpress software?
-
Just seeking reassurance.
I’m concerned about reports like this:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/03/12/wordpress_vuln_creates_botnet_army/
However, as a wordpress.com user, I assume I have no control over versions in use (presumably it’s always the latest version)
If that is so, then presumably we’re safe to assume the fix mentioned in that article has been applied automatically to the .com blogs.
Or should we be taking our own steps to protect our blogs?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You never have to worry about stuff like that with WordPress.com sites. We have a very knowledgeable and active security team.
It is one of the advantages of using WordPress.com over a self hosted WordPress site.
