Does Domain Mapping Require an IP Address?

    Hello WP team,

A few questions regarding the Domain Mapping upgrade:

    1. I own a domain already, but it seems like in order to direct my site to the domain, I need both a) domain name servers, which you have provided, and b) DNS IP. On this page [http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/] I can see the domain name servers but can’t find any WordPress IP info, will I get this info after I made the Domain Mapping upgrade?

    2. If I purchase the Premium Plan, will I still have to pay $13 for domain mapping?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

To use your domain at WordPress.com, you only need the domain mapping upgrade and the WordPress.com name servers on your domain. No other DNS changes (like an IP address) are required.

If your domain registrar does not support changes to your domain’s name servers without also setting IP addresses, I’d recommend switching your domain to one of the registrars mentioned at the bottom of our guide for Mapping an Existing Domain, instead. That way you can point the domain to WordPress.com by changing its name servers only.

    2. If I purchase the Premium Plan, will I still have to pay $13 for domain mapping?

Nope! The WordPress.com Premium plan includes a free domain (either a new domain registration or mapping for a domain you already own).

Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)
