Does mapping WordPress to my domain install WordPress?

  I bought my domain through Google Apps, which is supported by Go Daddy. I am about to purchase mapping, and it says “We’ll still host and take care of all that other hard stuff for you.”

  Does that mean that I don’t have to install WordPress or mess around with my DNS? I am trying to plan my best course of action because I am a beginner at this before I purchase the mapping. Thanks!

  You don’t have to mess around much. That is the simplest way to just get going with a custom domain on a WordPress.com blog.

  Note, however, that it’s not the same as having an independent install. You don’t get exemption from the Terms of Service or the code restrictions, for example. In all respects except the format of the URL, the blog remains the same.
