Does the commercial version have a DNS platform?

Hi everyone, I’m a new user helping out a friend’s business site. He has a domain name registered with Network Solutions and currently using a free WordPress account which will be moved to a paid account. His business name is licensed from a corporate entity, so he has to transfer the domain name ownership to the corporate entity, who will then point it back to his WordPress account. Currently, NetSol is handling the DNS, if the domain name is transferred to the corporate entity, they prefer not to handle the DNS, will I have the capability to control the DNS info through WordPress? Does the account have to be upgraded to a paid account first? And does this feature have a name with instruction online I can follow? I read about WP Domain Mapping, but I’m not sure if that’s what this is.

What is the current site? What follows here only applies if the site is actually hosted with us on WordPress.com, not if it’s using the open source WordPress software on Network Solutions’ servers:
To use your own domain with a site hosted on WordPress.com will require a paid plan on the site in question, yes, and then you’ll use a domain mapping upgrade to connect the domain to the site on our end:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
If you then point the domain’s name servers to us from wherever it’s registered, you’ll be able to manage the DNS from here.
I do need to note that our DNS editor has some limitations, so whether or not it works for you would depend on how advanced your DNS setup is. You can find information on how our DNS editor works and what DNS records are supported here:
