Does the custom redirect upgrade work to move my WordPress.com site to Blogger?

  I have a wordpress.com site, and I am planning a move from WordPress.com to Blogger. Does the custom redirect upgrade work if I don’t have a custom domain on WordPress but plan on having on on Blogger? Do I need to buy a custom domain from WordPress and THEN redirect to Blogger?
  I can’t find any information on this. Anything would be appreciated. I know how to export my blog, but not how to redirect users to the new content. Please help!

  It will work as long as you have the same permalink structure, ie one with the Domain.com/date/slug type.

  So does that mean that I have to buy my domain on wordpress for it to work so I can redirect my traffic to blogger?
