my current domain is link to a website i created with WIX so if i transfer now to word press will this deactivate my current website with wix? will my current website still work?

It sounds like you are trying to keep your Wix site active while you set up a replacement here on WordPress.com and then when you are ready you would like to substitute your new site for the old one (seamlessly) so there is no interruption in your site uptime, yes?
If I have that right, then yes that is possible. You can fully set up your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready. To do that you will want to move your domain at the end, once the replacement site you create here is “ready to launch”
To get started you can create a site here and we will assign a private staging address you can use to get set up in private. You can visit this site to start your new (private) site so you can get started: https://wordpress.com/start/
Once you have your new site set up, you can move a copy of what you have on your Wix site over to WordPress.com so you don’t have to start over completely. We have a guide here for that: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-wix/
Then you can get working on setting up your site here. If you need a hand let us know!
When you are ready to “launch” the new site to replace the current one, that is when you will want to connect your domain to us. When you are ready for that let us know and we can walk you through the process!
