  Can I use the existing domain?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Yes this is possible – please see how to do this here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  Please note that in order for a site to set a custom primary domain, the site would need to have a paid plan, at minimum – the personal plan.
