    Hi there. I connected my site with a domain name I had purchased elsewhere. When I transferred it here it still shows up as mywebsite.wordpress.ca… Since I bought a domain name it shouldn’t still have WordPress in it, correct? how do I fix this.

    Hi there,

    one limitation to be aware of with free sites on WordPress.com is that they can only use the “wordpress.ca” address and do not have the option to use a custom address.

    However, you can upgrade to one of the plans listed here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    All the plans listed there include the option to register a new domain (if you do not have one) or to connect a domain you have with another company, so it can become the address for your site and remove “wordpress” from the URL.
