  I just cancelled my subscription and domain, so could use word press.org instead of dot com. But i would like do use the previous domain. is that possible?

  Domain registrars will hold onto canceled domains for a period of time as an anti fraud measure. So it can take a couple weeks before a domain is released into the pool of available domains again If you like, I can try and reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours. Then you will be able to use the domain here on WordPress.com or point your domain to a new webhost using these instructions:
