Domain
-
Hi there,
I purchased a domain off you on February 4th 2016. One year ago yesterday.
Last month I had my blog which was running on that domain pulled down with the help of yourselves as I am in the process of building a full website.
My question is was that domain purchase for 1 year only, as I didn’t receive any notifications one month prior to extend this and the period doesnt show on my invoice. So does this mean it has run out yesterday?
Warm regards,
AnnaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, domain registration is a yearly purchase. The domain beaconsocialmedia.com was auto renewed on 2017-01-05. That same day you sent us an email requesting that the renewal be canceled and the payment refunded:
Hi There,
I wasn’t aware my subscription was automatic and had thought if I didn’t renew
it would cancel itself. My blog is no longer active and I would like to remove
it from the web. Is it possible to get a refund for the $34 just billed to me
yesterday. So, the domain has now expired, I am afraid. Were you hoping to continue to use it?

Hi there,
Yes, I am interested in the domain still. If I purchase it through WordPress, do you have 3rd party domain name servers so I can point the domain to a non WordPress website?
Kind regards

So, due to the expiration, the domain is now in the redemption period. this is a period when a domain can be registered, but incurs an $80 fee to do so. this fee is imposed by the registrar and is not something that we can waive.
The total price would be $98 with includes the redemption fee and $18 for yearly registration.
If you would like to go through that process, just let me know. If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee, the domain should eventually be released from the redemption and be available to register again. Based on the dates at hand, this should happen in the next week or two, but it is up to the registrar and I cannot make any promises. Also, it is possible that someone may grab the domain before you are able to do so, and then it would be unavailable for you to register.
Let me know what you would like to do.

I’m afraid that I have good news and bad news.
The bad news is that the domain is pending removal from the system and cannot be recovered.
The good news is that means the domain will shortly be available for registration again without having to pay the $80 fee.
