  Hi, so I registered my domain name and basic plan with wordpress.com 2 ago. Soon after I registered, I realised wordpress.com is not fore me because I can’t customised the site. Therefore I cancelled the account and and use wordpress with private server, bluehost. One problem is that the domain I registered is still occupied and I can’t not use it for my new site with bluehost. Is there anyway to transfer that domain to bluehost? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  Now you’ve cancelled the domain it will not possible to transfer it. However, you have a couple of options:

  1. Wait for the domain to be released and purchase it again through Bluehost. This should be around a week (although the timeframe isn’t guaranteed). When a domain is released it can be purchased by anyone.

  2. Try to restore the domain to your WordPress.com account. I would need to send a payment request for the domain cost ($18). As you’ve deleted your site, you would need to create a new one to add the domain to. The domain can then be transferred to Bluehost after 60 days.
