  Hi I switched over my domain to a different site but now the domain isnt working anymore

  The URL is iamsharonchance.com The domain expired on wordpress and im now using squarespace so I dont want to renew the domain on wordpress id rather renew it on squarespace.

  If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

  Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

  It is important to know that expired domains are not released by the registrar immediately. Also note that here’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again as it may be sold to someone else. Therefore you should allow a domain to expire or cancel a domain, if and only if, you are sure you do not wish to use it again.

  Hi iamsharonchance,

  iamsharonchance.com expired on 2017-05-23 and is currently in the redemption period:

  We can try to recover the domain for you but if you decide not to go ahead, you will need to wait for the domain to be released. Providing it isn’t purchased at auction, this can take 80 days or more. At this point you won’t be able to renew the domain through Squarespace, you will need to repurchase it because you will no longer own it.

  Going forward there are two options.

  1. Wait for the domain to be released
  2. Try to recover the domain and then transfer it to Squarespace

  As the domain is in redemption, you will need to be pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the $18 domain cost.
