Hi. Once my refund has been processed how long until the domain name is back on the market?

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. We have no direct control over this process.
You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future – even if it is released there’s always the risk that someone else will register it when that happens before you are able to.

Ok thank you for advising. I assumed that once the package was cancelled then the domain would become available. I understand this may not be the case then from your reply.

I canelled it within 24 hours of purchasing so I’m unsure if this makes a difference?
Normally it does – domains cancelled within the first few days after registration should be released after about a week.
However, you had a .co.uk domain, and this does not apply to them – country-specific domain extensions don’t follow the same process as so-called global top-level domains like .com or .org, and your domain, noughttobaby.co.uk, will not be available again for quite some time.
It does look like I should be able to still restore it for you, though. As you’ve already been refunded you’ll need to pay for it again, so please let me know if I should restore it and whether you are planning to use it with a WordPress.com site or somewhere else, then I can get the process started.
If you want to use it somewhere else, note that there’s a 60 day lock period during which you cannot transfer the domain – this applies to all new domains – but we can help you point the domain to another hosting provider in the meantime so it will still work.
