  I have recently purchased a domain name, but it’s not eligible to be moved to wordpress until Jan 5th. I would like to start work on my wordpress site now though, how do i do this?

  You mentioned WordPress but haven’t created a site here yet. There are two types of WordPress:

  1. WordPress.com: where the site is created and hosted here.
  2. WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on a third party host.

  I have recently purchased a domain name, but it’s not eligible to be moved to wordpress until Jan 5th.

  If you want to use WordPress.com but the domain isn’t eligible for transfer yet, it can be connected to the site you create with domain mapping:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain

  Then transferred here at a later date.
