  Hello. I’m interested in building a new website with WordPress but don’t want to transfer my domain until I’m done. What is the correct option to choose when I’m setting up. Thank you!

  Just choose the free plan. You can create your site with a free domain ending in wordpress.com. The actual address you choose won’t be too critical if your ultimate goal is to upgrade to a paid plan and transfer or map the domain address you already own to your WordPress.com site.
