  I want to switch my blog domain to ‘joyinmyheart.wordpress’ and then upgrade to the personal plan. But it says the domain isn’t available. When I searched ‘joyinmyheart.wordpress.com’ it says the site has been deleted by the owner. I’m wondering if it’s possible to free up this domain as it is really important to me that I use this domain. It’s apart of my brand. Thank you!

  Hi there,

  Deleted site addresses cannot be re-used, no, so there is no way that you’ll be able to use that free address.

  If you’re planning to upgrade you don’t need to use that exact address, though – the plan will allow you to register a custom domain, and then visitors to your site will only see the custom domain – they’ll never see the underlying free address.
