  Hi there,
  I already own a domain. I’ve put the authorization code to get access to my domain, but it asks me to upgrade wordpress to premium. If it says free with my plan, why do I need to pay to have my own domain?

  A domain is included free with an upgraded plan, not free with a free plan. You don’t have to purchase a Premium plan though. A Personal plan would also give you the opportunity to transfer or map a domain you already own to your WordPress.com site.
