Hello, I wanted to keep this domain name and move to wordpress.org – how long will it take for the domain to be released, or do I have to keep if through WordPress? If so, how do I get it back?

That domain was only created yesterday. Do you still own it or have you cancelled it already? If you have cancelled it within 48 hours then it MAY be released in approx 7 days for you to buy again elsewhere. Better to have kept ownership here and then just map it if you feel the grass is greener at a site elsewhere.

Wow, that was rude, I literally said I was planning on staying with WordPress, just choosing WordPress.org . Didn’t know the customer service was like this however.

As @themagicrobot mentioned, if you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

Since you just recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

No thank you. I followed what you did, and changed the name servers. But when I try to login with admin it still takes me to wordpress.com instead of wordpress.org, how can I change this?

WordPress.org is the site where you can download software, read documentation, etc. But you can’t manage your site there.
You’ll want to use http://britishenglishtutor.com/wp-admin to access your own WordPress admin area. From there, if you want to use our interface to manage your site, you can install and connect Jetpack, and enable its site management service.
