  Functionally, they do the same thing. Someone entering your domain into their browser will be sent to your website.

  Practically, transferring means that you have one bill to pay and one location to manage everything. Mapping means that you continue to pay for your domain registration at your current registrar and management will be done through their interface.

  Either method works just fine, it’s really just up to what you prefer. You can always map the domain here and then transfer later if you are really unsure what you would like to do.
