Neither option is necessarily better. It all depends what’s most convenient and cost-effective for you.
For example, the annual domain renewal cost at your current provider might be cheaper than it is here, but it might be more convenient to you to only have to pay one provider for both the domain and the site than having to pay two different providers.

this is Maya, who gave you endless thank you for your help to recover my old user name.
Well, unfortunately, although I was able to get in and sign with my existing username, it turned out that it brought me to my old closed account with old content as well, and now I cannot even sign in anywhere, creating for myself an additional problem, because old website with the same name showed up and current one I needed to connect to wp.com shows invalid.
I was really very close to a heart attack.
You know, one can take as much stress and I am going through it now for days and nights.
This is the reason why my wordpress.org changed my user name, because before abt. 4 yrs ago had the same theme and same domain with them.
My new domain has a different user.
PLEASE HELP ME, OTHERWISE I REALLY GO CRAZY!!
