  I have my domain with go daddy. Why do I have to transfer if wordpress works with godaddy?

  Hi –

  You don’t need to transfer the domain. If you want to use that domain, here on our WordPress.com environment, then you need to connect it to us. Transferring it is one option. The other is to map it.
