  I received a bill from a company called Domaine Registry. I think I shouldn’t pay them because I pay you for my domaine. Is this correct? And do I owe you money?

  I received a bill from “Domaine Registry” but I believe I have my domaine through WordPress. But am not completely sure. I don’t want to pay another company.

  We have absolutely no history of domains, purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into.

  Your domain is not registered with WordPress.com, and your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hostgator, who is also the domain registrar.

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
