'Domain Administrative Email' issue when transferring domain
-
Hello
I’m trying to transfer my WordPress-bought domain over to Siteground.
Followed the steps, got the EPP code, all fine.
When it comes to actually doing it, I get this problem:
Domain Administrative E-mail: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Do you have access to this email? Yes/No
When we start the transfer procedure, an email will be sent to the above address. The email will request for your confirmation for the domain transfer. Your domain will not be transferred without this confirmation. That is why you need to have access to it.Obviously that’s from Wild West Domains, and is their abuse reporting email. It isn’t my admin email that I set up with them. I have checked and I’ve definitely got my own email in everywhere I possibly could.
It seems I picked a great weekend to decide to do this, when WordPress support is on hold until Tuesday! Hoping someone can help in the meantime. Cheers.

Just realised that made very little sense as it redacted the email! The issue is it’s not my email. It’s an email address for Wild West Domains – abuse at WWD dot com.

Bumping this up…
It seems WordPress support is still down. Can anyone here help in the meantime?

Hi there,
When it comes to actually doing it, I get this problem:
When you say that, do you mean following the steps at Siteground – did they not accept the EPP code?
If not, ince you have received the transfer code, have you followed the steps over at Siteground in order to complete the transfer? It takes up to five days for the transfer to complete.
Please let me know where exactly you are in the process and your last action that caused the problem, and I’d be happy to help.
Thanks!

I have it but cannot enter the EPP code because as soon as I do, it will need confirming via that email address – which I require access to. But it isn’t mine.
Siteground have confirmed that this is a common WordPress issue and to contact them. I’ve emailed them but no reply as I understand their support is still offline for a bit.
Any ideas? Thanks!

I am staff – we’re back and here to help! =)
I’ve checked your account on wildwestdomains.com and your email address is listed there correctly. That means that the email your new hosting company sent will be redirected to that address.
So, actually this is an issue on Siteground’s end. We do not require an email confirmation on our end. They’re sending it to the email address clearly listed as “Registrar Abuse Contact.”
As proof, according to the domain’s whois data if you look under Admin Email, your email address is mentioned as registrant. However, if you look under Registrar Abuse Contact Email: you’ll see the abuse email that Siteground is referring to. Please forward that link to Siteground to ensure that they are using the registrar email instead of the registrar abuse contact email. Everything is fine on this end – as you said, your email is placed everywhere correctly.
Thanks!

Right. I will contact them again. Just don’t want to end up in limbo with an email sent to some random mailbox. Thank you!
