Domain and Credential issues

My partner and I had made a website last spring (2019) using WordPress. We were helping out some family that needed a new website for their company. We weren’t quite finished with it yet so we put it on hold until after summer (summer of 2019). We didn’t know the website was live and our family member, who owns the business, notified us that users were confused that there were two different websites for the same company. So my partner had changed the domain and tampered with the settings to make the website hidden. Now, the time has come where we need to finish this website as soon as possible. However, we tried to ‘restore’ our website and nothing happened. We also are not entirely sure our credentials work for WordPress login. The account I am using now is not the account we used to create the website. This account is so that I can get help to log into my other account. We don’t know what is wrong or what we did to lose access to WordPress and our website. How do I get the old domain working again so that I can see our old website?
