Domain and subdomain mapping with an existing domain
-
If I purchase the domain addon for an existing domain that I have registered elsewhere, can I point sub-domains to a non-wordpress.com server? I see in the support documents that I can have the subdomain on wordpress.com (blog.mydomain.com), but don’t see anything about the reverse: http://www.mydomain.com points to wordpress.com; sub.mydomain.com points to my server.

and blog.your-domain.com will still point to my original servers, not wordpress.com? (Essentially, I need to point to non-wordpress pages since I cannot do custom coding here)

Yes – remember other than CSS you can’t do custom programming no matter what upgrade you have on a WordPress.COM blog

Exactly. That’s why I want to host part of my site (with custom code) on my own server, but use wordpress.com to host the rest.
