Domain Availability/Refund

I recently removed my domain from you servers and would like to free it up for a new hosting site. I understand that there was a disclaimer prior to me doing this, however I removed my domain from a hosting site prior to signing up with WordPress.com and it was freed up shortly for me to use. Could I get this process expedited or do I need to just be patient and wait? Additionally, I did not receive the $26 refund after doing so. I was told to Contact support for assistance with this, however since I downgraded at the same time I lost the opportunity to do so. I realize that this whole thing could have been avoided with some forethought, but I’d really like some assistance from here out! Thank you for your time and help in advance.

This is out of our hands. Canceled domains are at the mercy of the registrar and can be unavailable for a few week. Particularly as an anti-fraud measure if the domains are newly registered.
If you like, I can attempt to reverse the cancellation and you can then point your domain to a new webhost using these instructions:
…and after 60 days have past from registration, you can transfer your domain to a new registrar using these instructions:
Additionally, I did not receive the $26 refund after doing so.
I can absolutely do this for you. I’m unsure why you weren’t refunded in the first place. That said, we should decide on the above option first. There’s no point in refunding if you would need to then repurchase the domain again because you decided to reverse the cancellation.

Thank you so much for the information. If you could attempt to reverse the cancellation I would greatly appreciate it. No need to follow up with the refund, I’m realizing the $26 is not worth the hassle of trying to reclaim the domain by some other means.

I will contact the registrar and attempt to reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours.

Good news, @jph610 :) We were able to get the domain back. You can now point it to a new host using these steps:
