Domain available?

  I had registered a domain last year (www.nicolech.com) but it stopped working a few weeks ago, tried to renewed it but I linked it to the wrong wordpress blog, so I cancelled it and apparently I lost it. I’m trying to buy it again but it’s says it’s not available. (I looked it up and it’s still owned by wordpress) can you help me getting it back?

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to transfer your domain to a different blog, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
