Domain cancellation

  Hi, I removed my domain hoping it would free up for purchase with another host but I’m not sure if it worked. My plan expires in April 2017, should I have cancelled the plan before removing the domain? Is it possible for wordprss to cancel the plan for me instead, seeing as I have already removed the domain and can no longer access the plan information.

  Hi there,

  Did you read the warning on the domain cancellation page that said the domain won’t be released immediately and that you might not be able to register it somewhere else? It can still be months before our registrar will release that domain, and then only if they don’t sell it at private auction once it expires.

  If you still want to use the domain, I can email our registrar to try and get it back for you. Then you can map or transfer it to a different provider. Please confirm if you want me to attempt to un-cancel your domain, rosannamach.com.

  Note that we’re only able to do this for a few days before the domain enters redemption. Once it enters redemption our registrar charges an additional $80 fee to restore it.
