Domain cancellation and refund
-
Hi,
I have just cancelled my domain and and upgrade through the ‘manages purchases’ section in my sites account, within the 48hour period to receive a full refund. This is according to the instructions given by the person I spoke to on the online support chat service, and the link I was given here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ Please could you confirm that I will receive the full refund of £85 for this cancellation as the process of cancellation has not re-itterated this? Thanks, LisaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Not a problem! I have canceled your subscription for WordPress.com Premium and refunded the charges back to you. It can take between 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank statement.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care,
-
Ok, thank you. So that will be £85 in total to receive back?
Also, from my previous chat, I was told the domain would become available to purchase again, is this the case? I am currently working out the best option of where to build/host my site and unfortunately WordPress is not right for this project, but hopefully will be for one in the future :) -
Yes, you’ll receive it all back.
If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/
If you recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/
I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
Let me know if you would like for me to try and regain the domain for you.
Thanks!

Ok, thanks for your help, this is different to the information given on the chat I had. However, I am willing to take a chance and see if the domain becomes available again. Thanks :)
