Domain Change/Cancellation

    Hi there!
    I am new to website building and bought my domain ‘haleysharp.com’ separate from WordPress. I am looking into options, including cancelling my domain altogether so I can repurchase it elsewhere and/or transfer my domain and delete my WordPress account but need some help with that process and would like to know my options.

    If I cancel my ownership to my domain ‘haleysharp.com’ will this site not exist/be linked to that domain? How do I transfer ownership to a different website outside of WordPress if I keep my domain?

    Hi! In general, it’s advisable to not cancel a domain in one place to buy it elsewhere, as it’s not always clear exactly when it becomes available to register once more.

    As it is, we can see that you had not purchased haleysharp.com through us here at WordPress.com but with another provider, meaning that anything you cancel here on WordPress.com wouldn’t affect your domain registration.
