I bought a domain using GoDaddy named – ‘prcwrites.com’. And I want it to get redirected to my wordpress website. Like whenever someone searches for prcwrites.com it should redirect them to prcwrites.wordpress.com

    Site: https://prcwrites.wordpress.com.
    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there!

If you only want to redirect the domain to your WordPress.com site, you may be able to set up a redirect on GoDaddy’s end. However, if you set up a redirect like that, your actual site will still show the WordPress.com address https://prcwrites.wordpress.com when visitors are on the site.

If you’d like to use your own domain with the site properly, you’d need to do the following:

    * Upgrade to a paid WordPress.com plan. You can review our paid plans here: https://wordpress.com/plans
    * After upgrading, connect your domain via domain mapping: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

Once the domain is mapped, you can make it primary so that your visitor sees your custom domain when they are on your site.

Feel free to let us know if there’s anything else you need and we’ll be happy to help.
