Domain Credit and Mapping on Personal

  • Unknown's avatar

On the support page titled ‘Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping)’, it says
‘Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own.’ By ‘Each paid plan’, one would assume Personal, Premium, and Business.
I have tried to do this, but every time I try it under ‘personal’ which is a paid plan, it says I have to upgrade to premium. I have a purchased domain and under the information given by WordPress, should be able to use my domain name credit to map that domain instead of choosing a domain I don’t want or paying $18/year more or 3x as much for what is stated as a part of the service.
What am I doing wrong or is WordPress misrepresenting themselves in their customer support?

    Hello,

By ‘Each paid plan’, one would assume Personal, Premium, and Business.

Yes, that’s correct. You can use the Personal plan to map a domain.

Add the Personal plan to your cart first and then select the domain. If the domain is added first, the Premium plan is selected automatically.

Let me know how you get on.
