Domain deleted

    Hi,

    My previous domain name was denisesblog.org – I deleted it a month ago and I was wondering if I could get that domain name back. Also will my subscribers still receive new post notifications to their emails if I change my domain name? They subscribed to my blog when it was called denisesblog.org

    Hi there,

    Sadly when a domain is cancelled, it is sent back to the registry to prepare it for resale. So denisesblog.org is no longer under our control at this time. The good news is that we may be able to recover your domain, but there will be a late renewal fee to do so.

    Please check your inbox for the invoice we just sent, which will include a link to pay for the renewal of as well as the late renewal fee.

    After you make payment please return here to let us know so we can take the next step of recovering the domain.

    Hi,

    Payment has been made. Please do all you can to recover my domain.

    Also, what happens to my subscribers when a domain name is changed? Normally an email is sent to my subscriber list right after I publish a post but lately that hasn’t happened after my domain was deleted. Will they receive emails of new posts again if my original domain is recovered?

    Payment received, unfortunately the domain fully expired on September 14, and we can no longer recover it, so I have refunded your payment.

    The domain is in the process of being returned to the public marker and no longer under our control: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#domain-released

    I recommend attempting to register it as a new domain once a day, and if no one registers it before you, you should be able to recover it eventually: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/

    As for your subscribers, they are attached to the site itself https://itsdenisesblog.wordpress.com/ not the domain, so effectively nothing has changed for them and they will continue to receive any new posts made to the site regardless of domain.
