Domain expiration notice

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I purchased and then cancelled (1 hr later) the URL megansisland.com for my blog one year ago. Everything was going fine until a few days ago when the domain expiration notice was displayed on my main site. I do not want to renew or upgrade and I’d like to get rid of the message and cannot find a way to do that. Please advise.

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I have canceled that domain for you. My apologies for the annoyance.

I cleared my browsing history and this doesn’t seem to have worked.

Should I re-up and then cancel my subscription? There’s got to be a way to opt out and just take advantage of the free platform.

  • Hrm, that is odd. I logged into megansisland.wordpress.com as an admin and got that notice, I closed it out and cannot make it reappear now. So I’m hoping that it was just “stuck” even though the upgrade has been canceled.

Are you still seeing it today? If not, great! If so, I’m going to have to do a little research into the situation.

Yep, still getting it. (As both an admin and general user on Chrome and FireFox)

Please look into it. If it’s not resolved by tonight, I’ll re-up and then cancel again, like I did last time, and then re-visit this issue again in a year.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Okay, I’ve monkey-wrenched with the master domain engine-computer-whoozit. Please take another look and let me know if you are still seeing the message. It seems as though the mapping record wasn’t deleted properly for some reason.

  • Hooray!

Glad we got it sorted. My apologies for the inconvenience.
