domain expired but no renew button even though within grace period

  My domain has expired? How do I renew it? There wasn’t a renew button in My Upgrades, and it said in that case contact support. It said it expired Jan 19 and the link I followed said that there’s a grace period of two weeks. It is Jan 29 today, which means I am still in my grace period. So why can’t I renew it?

  Hi there,

  I see that you were able to successfully renew your domain mapping upgrade for rachel.bicha.net, so you’re all set with that through January 19, 2015.

  Only the upgrade owner (the person who originally purchased the upgrade) can renew an upgrade, so if you’re logged in with a different WordPress.com account you won’t see the button to renew it. If you’d like, the upgrade owner can request to have the upgrade transferred to your account — that way you’ll be able to renew it yourself next year. If you want to do that, the upgrade owner can contact us and we’ll transfer the upgrade for you.
