domain expired but wordpress didn't contact me

    Hi, my domain has expired and I’d like to renew. Unfortunately wordpress never contacted me to let me know I needed to pay. I haven’t been blogging since about august last year and it was only by chance that I remembered today that it may be time to renew my license. Since wordpress never sent me any notification I was hoping it would be possible to waive the fee? I would really like to continue working with you! Please let me know and also please tell me how I can ensure that next year I do get updates in time to update?

    Hi there – your domain sydneyrogue.com expired on Mar 29, 2013. Before it expired, we sent numerous email warnings and displayed notifications on your dashboard. If you’re not receiving our email messages, you may want to change the email address connected to your WordPress.com account to make sure you receive them in the future.

    Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about expired domains here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

    The good news is that you can still recover your domain, as it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is imposed on us by our registrar partner and can’t be waived.

    You can renew this domain and manage all your other upgrades under Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard.
