Domain extension refund
-
Hi,
I moved recently my domain to another registrar. As I did this during the reservation period, just after it expired, I decided to buy another year of this domain in WordPress, to 2022. When moving domain on new registrar’s site, I was obliged to extend the domain using their service, so effectively I was doing that for a second time and the polishlove.blog domain should be paid up to 2023.
However, in the domain panel I saw that the domain is available up to 2022, not 2023. I wrote to their support and was informed that I should get refund from wordpress for prolonging the domain, as I effectively paid twice for the same year during the reservation period.
To sum up, I would like to get a refund from you, per ICANN rules. Thank you.WP.com: Unknown

Hello there,
Ok just to check, was the extra year of registration purchased with the other domain registrar?
The reason why I ask is because I can only see that one years worth of registration was purchased with WordPress.com – and this is now outside of the refund window.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Yes it was – it was obligatory during the domain import to a new registrar, I had to pay for a domain extension. So, I contacted their support and was told that I effectively paid twice for the same year. I wasn’t aware of that. That’s why I would like to get a refund from WordPress for domain extension, per ICANN rules.
Cheers.

This is too far past our refund window for us to issue one here, but please contact our billing team via billingsupport@wordpress.com and they may be able to take care of it.
